BEDFORD- The Bedford Knights of Columbus hosted their 47th annual Tootsie Roll Drive last weekend, and it was a roaring success. The organization had this to say to the public:
“The Knights of Columbus Council 1166 would like to thank the many individuals, businesses, and groups
that supported our 47th annual Tootsie Roll Drive. Thanks to your generosity, over $32,000 has been
raised this year to help local children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Funds raised during this year’s drive will support Lawrence County Special Olympics, Lawrence County
Arc and special education students at North Lawrence Community Schools, Mitchell Community Schools,
St. Vincent de Paul School, Lawrence County Independent Schools & the Springville Community Academy.
Special thanks to Walmart, Rural King, Johnny Junxions, and Price Less IGA for allowing us to accept
donations at the entrance to their establishments. Thanks also to the many knights and community
volunteers who worked at the collection sites.”
