Jury finds Bedford man guilty of child molesting

BEDFORD– A jury trial was held from September 10-12, 2024, in Lawrence Superior Court 1 for charges against Joseph Thomas, 40, where he was charged with ten counts, including class A felony child molestation.  After two hours of deliberations, the jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Joshua K. Scherschel and Senior Deputy Prosecutor Sarah Cummings represented the State of Indiana.  Timothy Sledd and Daniel Dixon represented Joseph Thomas from the Lawrence County Public Defender office.  The Honorable John M. Plummer III will sentence Thomas on October 3, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
