BLOOMINGTON—The Monroe County Fire Department is hosting a charity walk/run on September 28. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m., and the race will follow at 8:30 a.m. The event will take place in the Fairfax State Recreation Area, 9150 S. Fairfax Road, Bloomington, and adults, kids, and leashed pets are encouraged to participate. Early registration by 9/20 is $30 and guarantees a t-shirt instead of $40 afterward. Kids 12 and under are free.
