It is with great sadness that we announce that Rose Mary Hinson, 93, of Bedford, IN (formerly of Pinehurst, NC), passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at her residence.
Born on August 3, 1931, in Washington, MO, she was the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Kopp) Piontek. She married William Hinson on September 1, 1951. William preceded her in death on May 17, 2023.
Rose was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church. She was a much-loved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She found lots of joy in shopping, dressing well, and decorating her home, and had much love for her family. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joseph and Alfred Piontek, her husband, William, her daughter, Patti Wood, and her sister, Sylvia Betts.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Debbie Keaton of Cleburne, TX, her son, Bill Hinson and wife Kathy, of Spring, TX, her daughter, Linda and husband, Ron, of Bedford, IN, and her son-in-law, Roy Wood, of Pinehurst, NC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Amber Hall, Brian Erickson, Ashley Barker, Mike Hinson, Joy Boone, Stephen Hinson, Jon Hinson, Bess Wuertz-Lyon, Ryan Wood, Rob Wood, and 12 great-grandchildren. Additionally, Rose is survived by her beloved dog, Oliver.
Rose will be buried with her husband of 71 years at the Sandhills Veteran Cemetery in Fayetteville, NC.
Her memorial service and celebration of life will be held on a later date in North Carolina.
