BEDFORD— On Wednesday, September 11, Bedford Police Department officers arrested Jordan Reed, 31, following allegations of battery at the Rosemount Motel.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by Officer Stuart Ratcliff, police were dispatched to Room 124 at 1923 M Street at 8:17 p.m. in response to a call from a woman who reported that Reed had sexually assaulted her.
She told officers that she and her husband had invited Reed to their motel room earlier that evening. She stated that Reed appeared to have been drinking and, at one point, began waving a knife around, prompting the couple to ask him to leave.
The affidavit details that after Reed and the husband left the room, the woman heard a loud banging on her door. Expecting it to be her husband, she opened the door to find Reed, who allegedly forced his way in, hitting her arm in the process.
The woman claims that once inside, Reed grabbed her breasts and made an inappropriate comment. She reported falling back onto the bed to escape and then getting up to tell Reed to leave. At this point, Reed allegedly began searching for his “stick,” though the woman was unsure of what the stick was.
The victim stated she left the room to get away from Reed and threatened to call the police, at which point Reed departed in his vehicle, nearly hitting the woman’s husband, who was returning to the room.
Officers located Reed in Room 19 at the Budget Inn motel. After reading his Miranda rights, Reed was taken and detained. When questioned about the events at the Rosemount Motel, he allegedly denied any wrongdoing.
The Bedford Police Department has charged Reed with battery. As of this report, Reed remains in the custody of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
