BEDFORD— The Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department is mourning the passing of former Chief Standley Wright.
Former Chief Wright was a dedicated fire department member, having served for an exceptional 42 years. His passing has profoundly impacted the department and the community.
His colleagues remember him as a skilled firefighter and a source of wisdom and guidance. His words of wisdom have inspired and motivated many within the fire department, and his absence will be keenly felt.
“We could always count on Standley to share his words of wisdom to help us better ourselves in life and as firefighters,” one of his colleagues said. Chief Wright’s legacy’s impact is evident in his peers’ heartfelt words: “Standley, you will be missed by all. You meant more to us than words can express. We will continue your legacy as long as the fire department doors open. We know a heavenly angel will watch over us and ride with us to every call. God has called you to help serve and protect as a department member. Rest easy. We will take it from here. Rest in peace, Unit 29.”
