Swastika left at Bloomington synagogue, police searching for suspect

BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington police are seeking the public’s help to find who is responsible for leaving a piece of wood with a swastika drawn on it near a local synagogue.

Police responded to Congregation Beth Shalom on East Third Street around 6 p.m. Tuesday after the wood was found near the front entrance of the synagogue.

According to police, a person is seen on surveillance video approaching the front of the synagogue, leaving a thin piece of wood with a swastika drawn on it and two playing cards on the ground, and then walking out of camera view.

Police have not yet found the suspect.
