CROWN POINT – More than 900 attendees are set to celebrate women in business during the 13th annual Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Awards Banquet at 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Avalon Manor Banquet Center in Merrillville.
This year, winners will be selected from a group of 226 finalists, chosen from over 430 nominees submitted by peers and public members to the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association (NWIIWA). At the banquet, two winners will be announced in each of the 12 industry categories – an Up and Coming winner and an Influential Woman winner. Overall Up and Coming and Influential Woman of the Year awards will also be presented. In addition, two finalists will be recognized with Community Leader of the Year and Supporter of the Year awards. All finalists are awarded a Finalist Medallion.
“The banquet is such a monumental occasion where we can bring together a powerhouse of women who have elevated leadership, innovation, and excellence in their respective professional fields,” said Mary Wright, NWIIWA board chair. “We look forward to honoring the winners at the banquet and commending all the finalists and Influential Women alumni who continue to make a difference.”
Alumni evaluate nominations for the Influential Women Awards, narrowing down the nominees and selecting the finalists. Previous winners represent various industries, including education, health care, media, government, and nonprofit organizations.
