WOLCOTTVILLE – The Indiana State Police is conducting a death investigation in Wolcottville after a welfare check resulted in the discovery of a deceased female and three deceased children.
On Tuesday, September 17, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers with the Wolcottville Police Department were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at a residence in the 100 block of South Main Street in Wolcottville, IN. While at this residence, officers located a deceased adult female and three children who were also deceased. After making this discovery, the Indiana State Police was contacted.
The Indiana State Police responded with detectives and crime scene investigators. The information known to investigators and the evidence gathered suggests no threat to the public.
The Noble County Coroner will make identification of the deceased adult female and three deceased children. Autopsies are scheduled to be performed Wednesday, September 18, at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Ft. Wayne to determine the cause and manner of the deaths.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Noble County Sheriff’s Office, the Noble County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Noble County Coroner’s Office.
