ORLEANS – Bedford North Lawrence battled back twice to edge Orleans in five sets during high school volleyball action on Monday night.
The Stars (10-6 with three straight wins) rallied for a 22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 15-12 win. The Bulldogs slipped to 14-9.
“It was a grind that we didn’t give up on,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “Orleans is a good passing team and has an extremely athletic middle. We started slow but learned little by little, and were able to take advantage of windows they were leaving open.”
Sammie Gratzer had 17 kills and 2 aces, Jenna Allen totaled 8 kills, Trinidy Bailey celebrated her birthday with 7 kills, Isabella Root had 7 kills, Lily Scott added 5 kills, and Jayden Allen had 6 service aces for the Stars, who won their second five-set match of the season.
BNL will host Bloomington South on Tuesday.
