MITCHELL – On Saturday, September 21, the Mitchell Jr / Sr High School Marching Band traveled to Crestwood, Kentucky, to participate in the South Oldham Festival of Bands competition.
There, the Sound of the Swarm performed their show, “The Variable.'” They performed in the Mid States Class A (classes are based on school and band size).
The Sound of the Swarm show features original music by Joshua V. Hinkle and “The Lonely” by Christina Pierre.
Their performance earned them 5th Place in their class.
The Sound of the Swarm will again perform on Saturday, September 28, in the Persimmon Parade and all home football games.
The Mitchell Band Boosters will also hold a Bake Sale at the Persimmon Festival on Thursday, September 26th.
