ORLEANS—The Orleans Chamber of Commerce is finalizing plans for its 16th Annual Fall Fun Fest in the Park, which will be held on Saturday, October 12th.
Chamber Executive Director Robert Henderson said the local Chamber is again planning to host several fun fall family-type activities in downtown Orleans and hopes everyone will join the festivities.
Some of the planned events include Orange County Homegrown’s Beer and Brats 5K, a farmers market, arts and craft vendors, children’s activities, a classic car show, entertainment, food, and more. The Chamber’s Scarecrow Decorating Contest will also be judged, and the winner will be announced on the morning of the 12th.
Chamber officials are encouraging residents and business owners alike to dress up the town with colorful fall décor, such as pumpkins, mums, and straw bales, to usher in autumn in historic Orleans.
As has become a tradition, Henderson has announced that a special Kick-Off Event is planned for the Friday night prior, October 11th. It will be a “Block Party” with a FREE Front Porch Concert beginning at 6 p.m. at the 1847 Historic Home of Larry Padgett and family one block off the town square on West Washington Street. Hometown Scoops will also hold an old-fashioned ice cream social starting at 5 p.m. that night. During that time, Washington Street will be blocked off from traffic between Second and Third Streets.
In addition, Henderson shared that residents and their families are being encouraged to come out that Friday night and engage with their Fire and Police Departments, which will be set up on Washington Street with safety and emergency vehicle displays. Everyone is welcome!
