Two men arrested for alleged road rage shooting

INDIANAPOLIS— On Friday, September 21, at 8:00 p.m., two Indiana State Troopers stopped for a meal near 21st Street and Shadeland Avenue in Indianapolis. While they were in the parking lot, they heard gunfire coming from directly across the street.

The two troopers jumped into action and responded to a restaurant parking lot just south of 21st Street on Shadeland Avenue; in that parking lot, they located a man with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. One trooper remained with the victim and tended to his injuries while the other trooper began canvassing the area for the vehicle that fled the scene. Within seconds, a trooper located the black Ford Escape 1/2 mile from the crime scene, described as the suspect’s vehicle. Two people inside that vehicle were taken into custody, and a handgun was located on the ground just outside of the car. Back at the scene of the shooting, the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Indiana State Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators investigated the scene. Preliminary information revealed the incident began as an alleged road rage situation near 21st Street and Rama Place. The road rage led to a verbal confrontation and, subsequently, several gunshots being fired. There were no other injuries reported.

Keith Hill, 59, and Terrance Seagraves, 30, both of Indianapolis, were arrested and face the preliminary charges of attempted murder.

This case is still under active investigation, and there is no further information to release. All crimes mentioned above are alleged, and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. The charges listed are preliminary. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine the actual charges.
