DAVIESS CO. — On Wednesday, September 25, Indiana State Master Trooper Jarrod Lents was called to assist the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department in responding to a domestic dispute involving a firearm.
According to police reports, the incident began when a female victim was picking persimmons in the Raglesville area. Her boyfriend, 43-year-old Jeremy D. Graber from Odon, arrived and an argument ensued. After both parties returned to their vehicles, Graber allegedly blocked the woman’s exit by positioning his vehicle behind hers. The two exited their vehicles and began to struggle, during which Graber reportedly sprayed her and her vehicle with spray paint.
The situation escalated when Graber retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and fired a round into the woman’s vehicle, narrowly missing her as she stood nearby. The female then called the police, prompting Graber to flee the scene.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a spent shell casing and a can of spray paint at the location, along with paint marks on both the victim and her vehicle. A bullet was also found inside the engine compartment of the vehicle.
A short time later, Daviess County Sheriff’s Department deputies located Graber in a wooded area near Crane. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Daviess County Jail, where he is currently being held on charges of criminal confinement with a vehicle, a Level 5 felony, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, pointing a loaded firearm, and obstruction of justice, all Level 6 felonies, domestic battery, and criminal mischief, all Class A misdemeanors.
The arresting officer was Master Trooper Jarrod Lents, with assistance from Sergeant Mike Allen and Senior Trooper Andrew Watson, as well as the Washington Police Department and Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
