BEDFORD—The Lawrence County Commissioners approved the Health Department’s offering of a comprehensive Stop the Bleed Curriculum course for county employees. The course will focus on essential skills such as wound compression, wound packing, and the proper use of tourniquets.
The training will be provided free of cost.
Participants will also learn critical steps to take before and after first responders arrive at the scene.

- Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on class size)
- Format: The course will include PowerPoint lectures, instructional videos, and practical demonstrations to enhance learning and skill retention.
The health department will assist participating agencies in sourcing materials that align with their specific needs. Course dates and times will be arranged to accommodate the schedules of county officers, with a convenient training location to be determined based on participant preferences.
