BEDFORD—On Saturday, October 5, the Limestone Capital Half Marathon presented by McIntyre Brothers drew hundreds of runners from all over the United States, from North Carolina to Colorado and Texas. The event consisted of three races: a half marathon, a 5k, and a one-mile course. It was a beautiful day to run, with sunny skies and a high temperature in the low 80s. Ainsley’s Angels kicked off the race at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 51 half marathon participants at 8:05 a.m., with the 5k and 1-mile races starting at 8:10 and 8:15, respectively.
The overall Half Marathon winner was Kyle Stansbury from Bedford, who logged an impressive time of 1:19:11. In second overall and the top female participant was Taryn Garlington from Kokomo with a time of 1:20:10.
Reece Goodgame of Bedford, with a time of 20:01, took home top honors in the 5k event, and Michael Swartz of Mitchell came in second, clocking 20:22.
In the one-mile race, Trenten Akin won with a time of 8:18. Jackson Franklin was second with a time of 10:20.
