WARRICK CO. — The Warrick County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that human remains recovered from the Ohio River on Monday belong to 42-year-old Justin ‘Rocky’ MacDonald, a man reported missing from Spencer County.
An autopsy was performed at the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, October 8. The deceased male was confirmed as being Justin R. MacDonald. The family has been notified. The death was ruled an accidental drowning after no signs of foul play or trauma were found.
According to the Indiana State Police, MacDonald was last seen on September 29 near the French Island Marina at the intersection of River Road and County Road 1040 West.
On Monday, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of the Newburgh Lock and Dam after a 911 caller reported sighting a body in the water. Following the recovery, the Coroner’s Office conducted an identification process confirming that the remains were indeed MacDonald’s.
