MITCHELL—VFW Post 9107 is inviting the public for some friendly competition to support a good cause. They are holding shooting events every Saturday until April at their facility in Mitchell, 2449 VFW Road. Shooting begins at 10:00 a.m., so arriving early to register and set up is recommended.
“All proceeds go to Clothe a Child,” said Paul White, event coordinator, emphasizing what these shoots are all about. The event consists of 12 rounds. Rounds 1-10 cost $3 each and pay $40. Round 11 is a $5 “money round”, and round 12 is a $10 winner-take-all. The total to participate in all rounds totals $45. Rounds to win bacon, sausage, or frog legs will also occur, with the targets spinning on the range’s center mount. Paper targets and shotgun shells will be provided. You must bring your own 12 gage shotgun in stock and unmodified condition. The age limit for the event is at the discretion of the parent or guardian. “We have had kids as young as seven out here shooting,” White commented.
