April 25, 1952 – October 19, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Danny Charles Stewart on October 19, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Danny took his final breath in his childhood home in Oolitic, surrounded by his loved ones at 72.
Danny was born on April 25, 1952, to Charles and Mary (Miller) Stewart. He was of the Christian faith. Danny was a graduate of Oolitic High School, class of 1970. He devoted 27 years of work at Visteon in Bedford in the stainless department. Danny leaves behind the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Nancy (Holtsclaw) Stewart, his beloved wife of 53 years. They were married on March 13, 1971, and had three sons, Danny Joe, Jeffery Scott, and Robert Lee.
Danny was a dedicated man who cherished spending time with his family. If you knew Danny, you knew he was one of the biggest fishing enthusiasts ever. His extensive collection of fishing poles, lures, and bait littering in his garage proves that. One of his favorite places was on the water with his sons and grandchildren. Instilling the love of the outdoors into all of them. Danny also enjoyed being out in the woods during deer season.
Even though the past few years proved challenging for him to get that fall morning air rush, he was always delighted to share his many hunting stories with anyone who would listen.
Danny will be severely missed by all who knew him.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; two sons, Danny Joe Stewart, of Milton, KY, and Bobby (Deanna) Stewart, of Bedford; bonus son, Roger Mudd, of Ft. Wayne; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his loyal dog, Rocky; two sisters, Diana (Stewart) Flynn, of Springville, and Donna (Stewart) Chinn, of Garettsville, OH; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary (Miller) Stewart, and a son, Jeffery Scott Stewart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with David Holtsclaw officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
