Security guard accused of assaulting women at IU fraternity party

BLOOMINGTON— The Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a security guard at a fraternity party on campus. The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, October 17.

According to IUPD, the unidentified security guard is accused of fondling three women and attempting to assault another. The alleged crimes took place between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. at a fraternity house located in the 1500 block of David Baker Avenue, near State Road 45.

The guard in question was employed by a company that was previously on IU’s approved vendors list. In response to the allegations, the university has initiated internal processes to remove the vendor from its approved list.

Authorities have described the suspect as a male between 18 and 30. No further details about his identity have been released at this time.

IU Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Individuals can contact the IUPD directly at 812-855-4111. Additionally, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS.

This incident has prompted discussions about security measures at campus events and the vetting process for third-party vendors working on university grounds. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
