BEDFORD— During a meeting on Tuesday morning, the Lawrence County Commissioners granted Danny and Patricia Smetzer permission to acquire a small easement necessary for a septic system on their property. This property borders the fence line at the Virgil I Grissom Municipal Airport.
The airport management expressed no objections to the proposed easement; however, since the county owns the land, the commissioners’ approval was required for the transaction to proceed.
Attorney David Smith explained the significance of the easement, stating, “For the sale of the property to go forward, the easement is needed to expand the septic system.”
This approval allows the Smetzers to move forward with their plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations while facilitating necessary improvements to the property.
