INDIANA – Managed Health Services (MHS), a managed care entity that has been proudly serving the state of Indiana for over 25 years and a Centene (NYSE: CNC) company, is proud to announce the recipients of the first partnership opportunity from MHS Serves, a 12 million dollar health equity program. Through a collaborative partnership with Indiana Minority Health Coalition (IMHC) and Black Onyx Management managing the program, MHS Serves strives to empower communities through health equity-focused partnerships and innovations.
“I am proud to announce the community partners selected for this initial partnership opportunity with MHS Serves,” said MHS President and CEO, Kevin O’Toole. “The innovative solutions proposed by these key community partners will provide internet access for Hoosiers in various communities around our state. MHS Serves is excited to support their strategic initiatives to strengthen broadband access and promote tech literacy in our community.”
“Broadband access and tech literacy play crucial roles in addressing health disparities by enabling underserved populations to access essential health resources and services,” said MHS Chief Health Equity Officer, Dr. Shara Wesley. “For instance, broadband facilitates the use of telemedicine, online health information, and digital health tools, allowing individuals to receive timely and effective care regardless of geographic location.”
Through the establishment of new internet cafes, community computer labs and more, MHS Serves will support counties including Adams, Benton, Clinton, Dearborn, Delaware, Elkhart, Franklin, Jefferson, Jennings, Lake, Martin, Marion, Monroe, Ohio, Ripley, St. Joseph, Switzerland, and Vanderburgh through this initiative.
