DAVIESS CO. — Daviess County has implemented a burn ban for the second time in two months due to ongoing dry conditions and a significant lack of rainfall.

The Daviess County commissioners announced the ban on all open burning, emphasizing the need to mitigate fire risks in the area.
Emergency Management Director Scott Myers reported to the commissioners that local fire departments have been actively battling fires in recent days, highlighting the situation’s urgency. With no rain in the forecast until after the first of November, officials are urging residents to refrain from outdoor burning to prevent further incidents.
