Wilma Faye Phillips, 57, of Williams, passed on to Heaven on October 21, 2024, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born October 28, 1966, she was the daughter of R.C. and Norma Louise (Neely) Phillips (she was her daddy’s rosebud). Faye adored her companion, Charles (Pickle) Byrd, of 20 years, and he survives.
Faye was the foundation of her family. She kept the roots held tight, and she stayed in contact with each one always. She forgave and easily forgot anyone’s wrong. She loved the Lord and showed that in her kind and thoughtful ways daily. Faye was the best babysitter, dog sitter, and she cared for elderly as well. She loved helping her neighbors, family, friends and strangers.
Surviving is her soul mate, Charles Wesley Byrd of Williams; children, Dustin and Tela Weldon; her brother, Donnie Phillips of Bedford; and sister, Lou Phillips of Bedford. She has 7 grand blessings, Braylon, Madyx, Elijah, Nevaeh, Jordan, Madilyn and Rylee; Faye had three nieces, two nephews, and plenty of greats.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley (Anthony) Flynn of Washington, and brother, Roger Phillips of Bedford.
Cremation services have been entrusted to the caring staff at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
