Speed limit to decrease on U.S. 40 near Plainfield

HENDRICKS CO.— The Indiana Department of Transportation is scheduled to decrease the speed limit on U.S. 40 from just east of Ventura Boulevard to just west of Vandalia Blvd/Mecklenburg Drive in Plainfield. The change will take effect on or after Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The speed limit will decrease from 55 mph to 45 mph, impacting both directions of traffic. The decreased speed limit is intended to help enhance safety in the area.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and around work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
