JASPER— A traffic stop on Friday led to the arrest of a Lawrence County man on multiple drug charges. Police pulled over 32-year-old David Porter near the intersection of Newton Street and Schuetter Road in Jasper after discovering he was operating his vehicle with a suspended registration and without financial responsibility.
During the stop, K-9 Gator alerted officers to illegal substances in the vehicle. Subsequent searches revealed that Porter had both Methamphetamine and Cocaine.
Porter is currently being held at the Dubois County Security Center, facing charges that include:
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Cocaine
- Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration
- Operating without Financial Responsibility
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
