TERRE HAUTE – Bedford North Lawrence sophomore Paige Voigtschild finished 178th in the IHSAA girls cross country state finals race on Saturday.
Voigtschild, BNL’s first state competitor since 2020, toured the 5K track in 20:14.69 amidst the field of 248 runners on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course.
Fort Wayne Concordia’s Mallory Weller won the individual title, crossing the line in 17:12.19. Carmel won the team crown with 76 points, recording its 20th state championship. Ava Jarrell of Pendleton Heights (who was the state runner-up) was the Mental Attitude Award winner.
