LAWRENCE CO. – On Tuesday, the Lawrence County Commissioners signed a contract with Purdue University to enhance county extension services across several key program areas. This partnership will focus on agriculture, natural resources, health and human sciences, community development, and 4-H youth development.
In exchange for a payment of $132,680, Purdue Extension will provide three county educators who will work directly with the community to deliver educational programs and resources. This collaboration aims to support residents in various aspects of development and sustainability, fostering growth and knowledge in the county.
These educators will enable Lawrence County to better address the needs of its citizens, ensuring that vital information and skills are accessible in essential areas such as agriculture and youth engagement. The Commissioners are optimistic that this partnership will significantly benefit the community as it continues to evolve and grow.
