DAVIESS CO. – A Loogootee man was arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, facing multiple serious charges related to operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Jarit Knepp, 41, was arrested following a traffic accident in which he was allegedly operating his vehicle while intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .15 or higher, more than twice the legal limit.
Additionally, authorities say Knepp had a prior conviction for operating while intoxicated, further compounding the severity of the charges. It is also alleged that Knepp was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the crash.
He landed new charges when he resisted arrest.
Knepp is being held without bond at the Daviess County Security Center as he awaits further legal proceedings on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 or greater, OWI endangerment, OWI with a prior conviction, OWI with a controlled substance, OWI resulting in a crash, reckless driving and resisting arrest.
