BEDFORD- Join the fun in the heart of Downtown Bedford on Saturday, December 7, as the community rings in the holiday season with Bedford’s Christmas Around the Square.
Visit the Open Air Christmas Market, enjoy food from local food trucks, and purchase Christmas crafts and gifts from vendors lined up on J Street between 15th and 16th Streets.
Vendors and the downtown shops and restaurants will be open early in the day; however, all street vendors will operate from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Plenty of vendors will be on-site during the market, and many of the downtown business storefronts will be decorated and illuminated as part of the season and Saturday’s festivities.
Enjoy a free live reindeer exhibit from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and free photos with Santa from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Bob Bridge, author and inductee into the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. He will be recognized from the steps in front of the Miss Indiana statue on the west side of the Lawrence County Courthouse at 5:30 p.m.
The Bedford Christmas Parade—Southern Indiana’s largest Illuminated Christmas Parade—will start at 6:00 p.m. The Parade lineup begins at 3:00 p.m., and all units should be in position by 5:00 p.m.
Spectators can enjoy festive parade music and hear the announcements near the corner of 16th and I Street as parade entries adorned in Christmas lights travel through downtown Bedford.
