BEDFORD—“Rescue Robin” fundraisers have become a staple in the Lawrence County community and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the White River Humane Society. WRHS board member Robin Compton has repeatedly locked himself in a cage with his huskies for weeks at a time, often braving adverse weather conditions to support the neglected animals in our area. After nine wonderful years, the WRHS board of directors announced that the Rescue Robin campaigns will end in 2024. Due to health concerns, Compton will be retiring after this year, and the WRHS board of directors issued this statement:
