Danielle Conner named 2024 IBA Woman of the Year

SPENCER – Danielle Conner, senior vice president of risk management at Owen County State Bank, Spencer, has been honored with the 2024 Indiana Bankers Association Woman of the Year award, sponsored by Krieg DeVault LLP. She was given the award on Wednesday, Nov. 6, during the IBA Banking on Women conference.

The annual award recognizes a woman in banking who excels in her profession, is active in her community and supports other women in reaching their full potential, whether in banking or other fields.

“It would be impossible for me to fit into a form in the many ways – both large and small – that Danielle finds to champion success for the individuals, organizations, and communities in her sphere,” one of her nominators said.

Conner volunteers with nearly a dozen named charitable, civic, and economic development organizations, bettering the community where she lives and works – the same community where she grew up – including her local chamber of commerce’s board of directors, the Owen County Community Foundation Board of Directors; Owen County Family YMCA Board of Directors; Spencer Main Street Board; Helping Hands; and the South Central Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association. She also manages the bank’s charitable giving programs and is one of its strongest internship program supporters.

Conner graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
