PAOLI—Local author Kevin Tower will sign his books at the Orange County Historical Museum on Paoli Square during the museum’s upcoming Holiday Open House on November 24. Tower will sign his books from 1 to 4 p.m.
Washington County native Tower of Campbellsburg turned a lifelong fascination with French Lick and West Baden into a hobby that grew into three books. After much research, his interests focused more on the lesser-known history of the two resort towns, the older hotels, gambling clubs, boarding houses, and the people who ran them.
He published his first book, Early French Lick West Baden Valley Hotels, Clubs, and Boarding Houses, in 2022. His second book, Twisting the Tiger’s Tail Illegal Gambling French Lick and West Baden Springs, was published in 2023. Taking of the Waters, his third book, was published in 2024. He will soon have his fourth book published Ashes of History A Look Back at the Gorge Inn, and is currently working on a fifth about French Licks Brown hotel.
Tower serves on the Board of Directors for the French Lick West Baden Museum and is a member of Indiana Landmarks and the Orange County Historical Society. In 2022, 2023, and 2024, Tower was chosen to participate in the Indiana Historical Society Author Fair in Indianapolis.
