City of Bloomington Utilities Issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for eight Addresses

BLOOMINGTON– On Monday, November 18, City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) crews were dispatched to repair a broken water main at South Glen Arbor Place and West Glen Arbor Way. Eight addresses are under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024, unless otherwise notified. Please find specific addresses and more information at bloomington.in.gov/utilities

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure drops below 20 psi in the water main. Those affected should follow these instructions:

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

CBU customers may refer to the CBU website at bloomington.in.gov/utilities for a list of addresses affected. Customers who signed up for the Monroe County Alert at www.co.monroe.in.us were immediately alerted

Starting January 1, 2025, CBU will move to a new communication platform linked to our billing database. This ensures that we have a reliable way to contact you in case of boil water advisories, water shut-offs, or other urgent messaging. Please update your customer contact information electronically at bton.in/cbu24
