LINCOLN CITY — Lincoln State Park offers the public a unique opportunity to cut and collect firewood from downed trees throughout the park. The program, ongoing through February 28th, allows individuals to harvest firewood for personal use, requiring a permit for each pickup truck load.
One pickup truckload of firewood costs $10, and the proceeds go directly to resource management and restoration efforts within the park. These funds will help support various projects, including replacing trees in campgrounds and other public areas to enhance the park’s natural beauty and sustainability.
Permits must be obtained in person at the park office, which is located within the park. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Central Time. A permit is required for each load of firewood, and firewood cut at Lincoln State Park is strictly for personal use only. It cannot be sold or used for commercial purposes.
The initiative offers residents a great way to gather firewood while supporting the park’s ongoing maintenance and environmental efforts. Visitors who plan to cut firewood are encouraged to follow all park guidelines and be mindful of safety protocols.
