OOLITIC—This morning, the Lawrence County Commissioners approved two ordinances to vacate portions of an alley in the Farmers Addition to East Oolitic. The alley segments in question run between properties owned by Kevin and his wife, who own the land on either side of the alley.
County officials confirmed that Kevin Jones sent certified letters to the three adjacent landowners to notify them of the proposed vacation. With no objections from any landowners, the commissioners moved forward with the approval.
This approval removes the two portions of the alley from public use, effectively transferring ownership to the property owners.
