Mark your calendar for holiday fun at the 2nd Annual Christmas in Downtown Mitchell on Dec. 14

MITCHELL- The 2nd Annual Christmas in Downtown Mitchell event brings festive cheer to the heart of the city. Families can enjoy holiday lights, live music, shopping, and delicious treats from local vendors. Featuring a tree-lighting ceremony and visits with Santa, this community celebration captures the magic of the season and supports local businesses in a joyful atmosphere.

A full day of activities is planned, kicking off at 11 a.m. with a vendor market and food trucks available on Main Street until 5 p.m. Grab something tasty from a selection of food trucks that will warm the soul, and enjoy shopping from local vendors and craft boutiques! If you have a holiday sweet tooth, be sure to indulge in free hot cocoa and cookies beginning at 4 p.m. while the family visits with Santa in the park until 5:30 p.m.

Kids aged kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to decorate cookies with Santa. In addition to cookies, kids will enjoy storytime and get a picture with Santa! Registering for the event costs $10 and will include some goodies to take home. Two sessions will be offered at noon and 2:00 p.m. at Mimi’s, Mitchell’s brand-new venue space located at 702 W. To “wrap up” the night, the Christmas tree in the park will have a lighting ceremony at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by the Merry Main Street Christmas Parade. The parade will begin at the Mitchell Church of Christ and proceed down Main Street, ending at Lawrence County Farm Supply.
