UPDATE: State Road 45/46 reopens to two lanes in Bloomington, off-ramp construction continues

MONROE CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Crider and Crider, Inc. reopened State Road 45/46 to two lanes in each direction on Tuesday, November 19, following intersection improvement work just east of I-69 in Bloomington.

While S.R. 45/46 has reopened, motorists cannot use the newly constructed reduced conflict intersection (RCI) turn lanes until highway lighting is installed. Weather permitting, lighting is expected to be installed in January 2025.

Crews will continue to complete off-ramp construction work from S.R. 45/46 onto Arlington Road. Weather permitting, off-ramp construction is expected to be complete by Fall 2025.

This project is part of a $9.5 million contract awarded to Crider and Crider in February 2024 and is currently scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
