Bedford man violates probation terms and is sentenced to prison

BEDFORD— A Bedford man has been sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction after failing to comply with the terms of his probation, according to a ruling by Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline.

Skylar A. Schofield

Skylar A. Schofield, 29, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, on May 9, 2024, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. Schofield was initially sentenced to 910 days, with time served and the remainder suspended. As part of the agreement, he was ordered to serve 545 days of supervised probation, which included participation in ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment) substance abuse treatment.

However, Schofield failed to meet the conditions of his probation. Judge Cline revoked his probation and ordered Schofield to serve 900 days in the Indiana Department of Correction, with credit for 18 days already served. As a result, his probation was terminated unsuccessfully.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Arthur Pearcy represented the State of Indiana during the proceedings.
