Doris Hampton, 91, of Bedford, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born June 18, 1933, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Russell and Anna (Evans) Swango. She had been a security guard at General Motors and was a member of the New Union Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Hampton, a granddog, Twiggie; her grade school friend, Ann Smith; four nephews, Dwight (Teresa) Swango, Dale(Ramona) Swango, David (Susie) Swango, and Daren (Melanie) Swango; several great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Reva Gail Swango.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Quincy and Olin Swango; a sister Mildred Fenander Stone; a niece, Denise Swango; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Fenander, Carl Stone; a sister-in-law, Mary Swango.
Graveside services at New Union Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions maybe made to Feral Cat Friends at Bynum Fanyo office, 528 N. Walnut Street, Bloomington, IN 47404 or the White River Humane Society.
