ORLEANS – The Orleans Chamber of Commerce invites residents and visitors to “Shop Small” and “Think Local” this holiday season by supporting hometown businesses on Small Business Saturday, November 30th.
Sixteen Orleans shops, eateries, and other local businesses will open their doors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a range of specials, discounts, giveaways, holiday décor, refreshments, and more to make the day extra festive.
As part of the celebration, the Chamber will again offer its Shop Small Passport, a fun way to engage with participating merchants. Shoppers can pick up a passport at any of the 16 participating businesses, stamp it as they make purchases, and be entered into a drawing for a fabulous gift basket, plus merchandise and gift cards from local businesses. To enter the giveaway, completed passports should include a name and phone number and can be dropped off in Santa’s Mailbox located in front of the Chamber office on Jefferson Street.
In addition to the shopping excitement, the Orleans High School Junior Class will host a gift-wrapping station in the Chamber office on the square’s north side. For a goodwill donation, the juniors will wrap your presents using supplied wrapping paper (and boxes would be appreciated). All proceeds from the wrapping service will benefit the Grand March & After-Prom activities for OHS students.
Robert Henderson, Executive Director of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, encourages everyone to participate: “Small Business Saturday is a great way to get a head start on your holiday shopping while supporting our local businesses. We are excited to unite the community and encourage everyone to support the Place Where They Live by shopping small this season.”
Don’t miss out on this chance to discover local treasures and make your holidays even brighter, all while supporting the businesses that make Orleans a special place to live.
