CASS CO. – On Wednesday, just after 8:30 a.m., members of the Indiana State Police- Peru Post arrested a Cass County man on felony charges after a nine-month investigation into allegations of child molestation.
The investigation began in March 2024 when allegations were reported to the Indiana State Police. During the investigation, detectives determined that Jerry B. Norris, 61, allegedly had improper contact with a juvenile in Cass County.
After the investigation, the case was presented to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office. Ultimately, an arrest and search warrant were obtained for Mr. Norris and his residence. Officers located Mr. Norris at his residence, and Trooper Chad Babbs safely took him into custody.Â
Once taken into custody, Norris was served the search warrant for his residence. After a subsequent search, officers located multiple electronic devices, suspected marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.Â
After the investigation, he was incarcerated in the Cass County Jail.

Trooper Babbs was assisted on the scene by other members from the Indiana State Police Peru Post.
All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
