PAOLI – The Orange County Historical Society (OCHS) held its much-anticipated Annual Christmas Dinner on December 2nd at the Paoli Presbyterian Church, marking a festive and meaningful gathering for members and guests.
OCHS President Robert F. Henderson welcomed the guests warmly while Chris Lindley provided the invocation, setting a thoughtful tone for the celebration.
Attendees were treated to a delicious meal catered by Jerry Wall, offering a festive dining experience for the community.
The event also featured the introduction of the OCHS officers and board members for the coming year. The newly appointed Executive Committee members include:

President Henderson expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the Society and its members’ many accomplishments throughout 2024. He also highlighted several of the group’s activities over the past year, acknowledging the collective efforts that made them possible.
Looking ahead to 2025, Henderson shared excitement about two major milestones: the 175th anniversary of the Orange County Courthouse and the 140th anniversary of the Historic Dr. J.M. Sherrod Home, which houses the Orange County Historic Museum.
The evening’s program included a presentation by author Roger Moon, who introduced his new book, Life in Paoli, Ind.-1947. Moon shared brief passages from the novella, offering a glimpse into Paoli’s past with intriguing insights that captivated the audience.
The event closed with a performance by Kirby Stailey, who provided beautiful Christmas music, adding a joyful conclusion to the evening’s festivities.
As is tradition, the OCHS does not meet during January and February but will resume monthly meetings in March. From March through November, the society typically gathers on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Paoli Library.
