BEDFORD—First Baptist Church in Bedford is hosting a special Christmas Musical Celebration featuring the BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ) Community Choir and Orchestra, directed for the 20th year by Frank Battaglia. The concert will celebrate the season with beautiful music and vibrant narration.
First Baptist Church’s 25th Cantata will be an event to remember. The choir, which has over 50 members, and the live orchestra are all comprised of talent drawn from 21 local churches stretching from Bloomington to Salem. At the head of it all is local maestro Frank Battaglia. “He’s not only a staple in the Church, but in the community as well,” said Lead Pastor Jason Filler. Of the 25 years the Cantata has been performed, Battaglia has been at the helm for the past 20.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 7th at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 8th at 7:00 PM, and Monday, December 9th at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 1515 20th Street, Bedford, IN. No offering will be collected, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. “Frank insists this is a completely free event, to be a blessing for the community. We had two performances last year, and they were packed,” Pastor Filler said, stressing that seats could be hard to come by as early as 30 minutes before showtime, so the earlier you arrive, the better seating options will be.
