INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana State Police Detectives are still seeking information about a 2012 homicide that claimed the life of Sherese Bingham.

On December 12, 2012, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Indiana State Police officers were dispatched to the White River Parkway walking path to the report of a body found.

Sherese Bingham

Officers located the body of Sherese Bingham on the walking path near the intersection of Limestone and New York Street. Police say Bingham was walking her dogs through the White River State Park. She died from a gunshot wound.

The investigation was delayed a short time while Indianapolis Animal Control removed two of Bingham’s dogs near the body. The dogs appeared to be “protective” of Bingham and would not let investigative personnel approach them. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
