Authorities and animal rescue found dog brutally killed

SPENCER CO. – Community members in Spencer County urged the public to come forward with any information after a dog was found brutally killed in a disturbing incident.

It Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue (ITV) shared news of the tragic discovery on Facebook, calling for assistance from the public to help identify the dog’s owner and gather details about the dog’s death.

The Rescue announced the owner was located.

The rescue organization posted a graphic update on Facebook, describing the dog as having been “brutally killed” in the Grandview River bottoms area. According to authorities, the dog’s throat had been slit, and it was left to die alongside another dog, which was also found at the scene.

ITV, which responded to the scene with local authorities, is now appealing to anyone with information about the incident. In their Facebook post, the rescue organization said the owner had been found and is working with police to gather any details that could lead to answers about the circumstances surrounding the animal’s death.
