
LOGANSPORT — A 15-year-old student was arrested Monday after allegedly making threats and possessing weapons at a school in Walton, Indiana, according to a press release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident unfolded when a school resource officer assigned to Lewis Cass schools was notified about the student carrying multiple weapons and making threats toward other students. The Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy officer quickly detained the student and notified school officials.
Authorities confirmed that the weapons found in the student’s possession did not include any firearms. Following the arrest, law enforcement searched the student’s home, where additional evidence was discovered, including what is described as a potential target list.
The student was arrested before school officials could initiate lockdown procedures, ensuring no immediate threat to the school community occurred. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
