FORT WAYNE– Indiana State Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced the promotion of Master Trooper Wes Rowlader to the rank of Sergeant, and he will now serve as the Public Information Officer at the Fort Wayne District. Sergeant Rowlader competed in a promotion process, including a written test, an oral interview, and an overall work performance evaluation.
Sergeant Wes Rowlader is a native of Michigan but has lived in Indiana for the last 29 years. After graduating high school in Michigan, he attended Huntington University and obtained his bachelor’s degree. After college, Sergeant Rowlader worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections before being accepted to the 63rd Indiana State Police Academy in 2002. After graduating from the academy, Rowlader served at the Toll Road Post. In 2005, he was transferred to the Fort Wayne Post to serve as a Trooper for Dekalb and Steuben Counties. In 2008, he competed for and was selected to serve General Headquarters as part of the North Motorcycle Team, where he served until 2016. In 2016, Rowlader transferred to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division to work as a School Bus Safety Officer for Whitley, Noble, Lagrange, and Elkhart Counties, where he served until his promotion.
In his new role, Sergeant Rowlader will be responsible for Media and Community Relations for the 11 counties within the Fort Wayne District.
Sergeant Rowlader resides in Dekalb County with his wife, son, and daughter.
