Women violates probation for fifth time landing her in the Lawrence County Jail

BEDFORD— A Bedford woman was sentenced to the Lawrence County Jail on December 19, 2024, after failing to comply with the terms of her probation.

Noel M. Bridges

Noel M. (Bowman) Bridges, 37, had previously pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. Under the terms of her plea, Bridges was initially sentenced to 180 days in the Lawrence County Jail, with 174 days suspended, leaving her with 6 days to serve.

However, after violating the terms and conditions of her probation for the fifth time, Judge John M. Plummer III revoked Bridges’ suspended sentence. As a result, Bridges was ordered to serve the 174 days of her suspended sentence in the Lawrence County Jail.

Bridges’ probation violations included multiple petitions filed for failure to comply with the terms set forth by the court. With this ruling, Judge Plummer emphasized the importance of adhering to probation conditions, particularly after repeated opportunities for compliance.
