Betty J. Sipes, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 3:54 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at her residence.
Born March 11, 1937, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Russell and Thelma (Kirk) Barrett. She married Ralph E. Sipes on March 13, 1955, and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2003. She was a custodian at Indiana University and a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior.
Survivors include two daughters, Tami J. Hanna (Brad), of Bloomington, and Lou Ann Sipes of Bedford; her companion, Robert D. New, of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Susan Sipes, and a sister, Kay M. Hedrick.
Gravesides services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, and at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, with Nathaniel McVey officiating. Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
